I grew up riding dirt bikes through the woods of Durham, NC. Twenty years ago, I moved to North Bend, WA. Paradise as far as I am concerned. Though Colorado has a lot going for it.

Over the last 15 years, l’ve spent a lot of time exploring the Washington Cascades and a lot of time looking at and working on maps. I thought I would share some of that knowledge with the community.

The routes on this site are designed to be enjoyable and give the rider a sense of a journey.

I’m not interested in challenge for challenges sake. That said, there is plenty of fun and exciting riding on these pages. The routes are designed to be ridden by big ADV bikes on down. I have ridden most of these roads on a KTM 1190R. Full disclosure: I got rid of the 1190 and now ride a KTM 500 EXC.

Lastly, it should go without saying but: you follow these routes at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything that might befall you while riding.

Some mapping software info if’n you are interested:

While riding, I primarily use GAIA GPS on an Apple iPad for navigation and tracking. I use Avenza for navigating areas where maps are published in GeoPDF (In Western WA: USFS roads covered in a MVUM and areas covered in the Cle Elum Off Road Map).

For planning routes, I use GAIA and Avenza on the iPad (I am also trying OnX Offroad). I also use Garmin Basecamp on my laptop.
